20060614 Pool, Punctures, and Processing

20060614 Pool, Punctures, and Processing

"Bombs away!" SPLASH! Fun and friends, a pool to play in, thatt's the wonder of summertime when you're 5 years old. Five children giggled, jumped, and swam underwater under mom's watchful eye Saturday, while dad spent the entire day mind-numbingly bored while far too much money drained away on new tires and tie rods and alignment on the van.

We arrived home, all exhausted and ready for bed, and found we would be journeying again. Why can't our animals EVER get hurt when the vet will be open? Even the next day?? But nooooo. After checking GP for breathing, especially after how he was lying on the ground, we gently scooped him, with his very swollen and possibly broken leg, onto a sheet and introduced him to the good people of the animal emergency clinic. After all the oozing, yelping, sedation, shaving, poking and prodding, and twisting and turning, the cause turned out to be that he, in his utterly insatiable urge to play, annoyed some dog so intensely that it bit him several times on the shoulder until he couldn't get up enough to chase after them demanding more attention. Sweet dog, but we may have to find a Leisure Learning class to improve his social skills.

Housecleaning has been the order of the day, or the evenings, rather, and portions of floor have magically appeared! The local library thanked us kindly for the donation of so many old computer books, and gladly loaned us a cart in which to haul them - and we returned that cart rather full, I might add! Now we actually have a bit of shelf space in the library (temporarily). Now to place some of the overflow books that crowd the floor until there is barely room to scoot by. :-)

Our new computer may have to go back and be exchanged for a lowly power supply. Having a newer computer should have meant faster processing speed, but the name Molasses has been suggested. Speed does not seem to be the order of the day here. Further surgeries may be performed upon it tonight to see if it can be saved, or if brain-death has consumed it.
