20060521 Schlitterbahn
Exhausted, well-fed, and well-chlorinated, we have arrived home after a day at Schlitterbahn in Galveston (a company picnic). Talesia has discovered the agony of chlorine in the eyes and the joys of goggles. She has also discovered "YEE-HAH" while barrelling down all of the biggest water slides they had to offer. Fish dinner and feeding seagulls rounded out the family day nicely, even though Lynn and Talesia were attacked by a Seven Layers of Heaven chocolate cake with chocolate chunks and chocolate syrup and Oreo cookies, so the HAD to defend themselves...they did their best to devour the beast, but in the end, some half or so of it overpowered them and hijacked its way home.
Saturday, somehow SHE got to go swimming at a friend's house while WE got the joy of cutting and bundling lumber and branches. How did that happen?
The Empire Strikes Back has blasted its way through here to its halfway point twice now. Hopefully next time Talesia will stay awake long enough to watch it until the end. But now all story and imagination for her centers around the Star Wars universe. There are far worse things for her to grow up on, so I suppose soon we will be getting episodes 1-3 on dvd.
