20060605 Disks, Dancing and Drama
Flip........(nothing)....... Check the power cable, the power strip, plug it in to another plug, flip........(nothing)....... Bast's heart has stopped. Time for a new power supply for THAT computer! Off to the toy store - Fry's!
There we find that we can get a power supply for $50, or a new comp (no monitor), running a flavor of Linux, for $150. Hmm, new power supply, new processor, new hard drive, and we can hook up the old hard drives if we want. Difficult decision - NOT! However, we have found that while running Linux we can get online, but not with the old hard drives (running Windows) hooked up. A puzzle to pursue.
Saturday we went out with a group of friends. Talesia had a grand time in the middle of the drumming circle, shaking maraccas someone handed her. She was, of course, the belle of the ball. :-)
Sunday was Star Wars day. Talesia has been so adamant on Star Wars lately that we borrowed episodes 1-3, watched them (we had seen 1), but shortly into Revenge of the Sith, we heard gentle snores. Guess that one'll be on again tonight. Wonder if we can get her to use the force to clean up her room...
