20060530 Tom Sawyer Party
Saturday we had a Tom Sawyer Party (ok, we didn't call it that, but I think I will in the future). We had several friends over to help us take down old fence and put up new. What a time! We put together new sections of fence, had a blast banging the old fence down, dug post holes (2-man augers are your buddy!), pulled the sagging gate back up, and generally had a good time. Gatorade was the drink of the day. Next time we should plan a bit better and have the drinks and meals thought out ahead of time.
Happy helpers included Joanna, Panda, my dad, C. Osborne, Nikki, Lynn, Ahliana, and Talesia. EVERYBODY helped immensely!
Sunday saw us taking one crewmember for a shot after he found the wrong side of a nail. Afterward, he proceeded to test the puncture-capabilities of several more. No more for him!
We got the old boards chopped and put out for trash, and we took out a side branch on a tree that almost took out a fence and 2 cars. Ouch! That was quite enough for Monday.
Now we are headed back to our daily lives - TO REST!
