20060325 Aggiecon
I'm not sure who wants to go to conventions more these days - us or Talesia. We descended upon Aggiecon, a gaming and scifi convention at Texas A&M, on March 25. Lots of fun, lots of costumes, but when you're 4, with no money of your own, the dealer's room only holds so much interest - unless you can *cute* mom into getting you something (ok, not truly that difficult). But how can a 4-year-old girl really shine? The costume contest! Our roommate, Panda, hand-crafted a fantastic unicorn costume from scratch for Talesia. The costume won her Most Magical Creature in the main costume contest. Then it was time for the Miss Aggiecon general contest. As miss cuty reached for the mic, a tumultuous roar of applause confirmed that she should win Miss Aggiecon (for the second year in a row). Afterward, we had a blast at the dance - who commanded that I should dance holding and swinging a 40-lb wiggleworm? Oh, well, no need for a gym membership after that!
