20060228 New brakes, new dog

Busy weekend, as always. Last weekend was EXPENSIVE, with over $800 in brake work - OUCH! Then, as we were driving along, I was wondering why a car was stopped in the middle of an intersection - until I saw the little lost dog in front of it. A kindly man moved him to the side of the road, but he ran back to the esplenade. We didn't want the poor lost dog to get hit - so now we have a new dog. Think Doberman mixed with a Basset Hound! Unfortunately, he wants to play with the cats, and can't understand why he's not allowed to chase them, they bat at him and -seem- to want to play... We'll see if he stays or if we find a new home for him.

Talesia has decided that her math flash cards are lots of fun, because she gets tickled for right answers, and that's great with her. I'm willing, since she goes through the entire set, doing single- and some double-digit addition. Makes mom happy, makes Talesia happy, seems like a good deal all the way around. And Magic Schoolbus is THE thing for her, so she's learning all sorts of things there. I will probably arrange a Magic Schoolbus birthday party for her in March.
